Extrait du livre Three Wishes
"Boy, it is hot," groans VIPO. "Well, we are in the desert," responds Henry, "but the landscape is fantastic, isn't it?" A yellow carpet of fine sand stretches out in front of the three friends, Vipo, the Flying Dog, Henry the stork and Betty the toy cat, standing on a hill. Tan dunes rise up to the left and right. Barely a sound breaks the silence. Betty wrinkles her kitty face: "That is very nice, but I am thirsty!" In the distance, a few palm trees and clay houses appear. Additional info: Believe it or not: As hot as it gets during the day – up to 55 degrees Celsius – it gets just as cold at night, sometimes below 10 degrees. So if you go on a desert expedition, do not forget to pack your sleeping bag, or a warm blanket!
"I hope it is not a mirage," Betty worries. VIPO smiles: "No, that is a real oasis." Indeed, soon they reach a patch of green. At the market, which is called a bazaar in Egypt, you can buy all kinds of things: Dates, lemons, rice, oriental spices, carpets, cloth and lots more. What a colourful sight! "Come on, let us get something to drink!" Henry exclaims. Betty has just unscrewed her water bottle, when a gentle mist rises out of it. What is this? Additional info: Visiting a bazaar is a very exciting experience. For instance, you are expected to argue loudly about prices before buying anything. This is known as haggling, and it is considered impolite not to follow this custom
