Extrait du livre Vipo in Munich- The Munich Dog Competition

Today, VIPO and his friends Betty and Henry are travelling to Munich, Germany. Like on every new adventure, VIPO and Henry are very excited… But as usual, Betty is the most excited of all. Additional Info: Munich hosted the Olympic Games in 1972. The Olympic Stadium complex, Tower and park is a must see when you come for a visit.

"Munich is so lovely!" calls Betty, as she peeks from VIPO's backpack. "How do you know?" asks Henry. "You told me so!" Betty laughs, and peeks even further out of the backpack. "I can't wait to see the museum, the onion towers, and especially the Oktoberfeeeeeeeeeest!" Oh, no! Betty has fallen out of VIPO's backpack!
"Betty!" VIPO calls after his friend. He flies after her but he can't catch up with her. She vanishes into the city below them. Luckily, Betty is a toy cat – so she can't really get hurt. But VIPO doesn't want her to get lost!
The beautiful "Zwiebeltürme", the onion towers of the city cathedral, gleam in the sunlight. VIPO and Henry land on the top of the towers and look around for Betty. VIPO takes out his telescope and peers through it. Additional Info: Crazy! The one tower of the "Cathedral of Our Dear Lady” in Munich is a bit smaller than the other. Why? When it was built, the money ran out and they couldn’t make it as big as the first!
He spots Betty on one of the roofs not far away. "Henry, look!" VIPO cries. Henry takes the telescope and looks. "She's on the museum roof!" says Henry. They see Betty fall through one of the windows. "Come on!" calls VIPO, and they fly after her.
Down on the street, two dogs watch VIPO and Henry flying to the museum. "Wow… Did you see that? A flying dog!" says one dog to the other. "Amazing!" answers his friend.
"Did you see that, King Lasso?" The two dogs turn to a big German Shepherd, who looks very arrogant. "A flying dog… Big deal!" he snorts, and turns away. Additional Info: German Shepherds are large and powerful creatures; they are loyal and compassionate and make great companions. They are a working dog and are used as herders, as police dogs and by the military.
At the museum, VIPO and Henry look for Betty through the window on the roof. "See anything?" VIPO asks. "Only an old engine, a steam boat and a hot air balloon…" Suddenly they see her, clinging to the hot air balloon! "VIPO! Henry! Help me!" cries Betty. "My wheels are slipping… I'm going to fall!"
Betty slides down, scratching the balloon with her nails and tearing holes in it! "Help me!" – and loses her grip completely, falling on top of the old steam engine, which stands right underneath the hot air balloon.
