From all parts of the planet, the same complaint is heard: "the sun is too hot, we can't breathe, it doesn't rain enough...". To understand what's messing up the atmosphere, the animals decide to send the dolphins around the world to gather information. In "Hot planet", cows producing methane (greenhouse gas) symbolize human activities. The investigation humorously introduces young readers to the issue of ecological policies.
