A poignant text on the Rwandan genocide.
Running. I run ahead of a past that pursues me. I have been running since 1994. I was a child. Tutsi. In Rwanda, everyone was running. We ran, we fell, we hid. Hutus against Tutsis. Tutsi against Hutu. And the whites. And the military. I lost my family. I lost my brothers. I have seen the horror of men. I run so that it does not catch up with me. And yet I am Innocent.
