Le Père Goriot

By following the young Eugène de Rastignac, who comes from his province to Paris to try to make his fortune, we discover the underside of Parisian society in 1820.

Eugène befriends Father Goriot, an old man who lives in poverty after having divided his fortune between his two daughters, whom he married off.

Eugène meets both daughters while trying to enter the two dominant classes of the time: the nobility and the wealthy bourgeoisie.

"Le Père Goriot" is available on Storyplay'r in an illustrated version, in an audio version narrated by french native storytellers. Thanks to our reading module, we can offer a reading aid for this story as well as for all the other ones, and tools for a dyslexic children adapted version.
