Manger et après ?

Manger et après ?

From the very first bite, digestion begins. Food travels nearly 9 meters inside our body over the course of 10 to 24 hours!

First step, the mouth: the teeth cut and grind the food; saliva helps with chewing and starts digestion; the food is reduced to a mush called the bolus. Then, it heads to the stomach!

Second step, the bolus is kneaded and crushed. It turns into a liquid mush called chyme.

Third step, the intestine: along the way, the liver sends bile and the pancreas releases enzymes. The chyme is then transformed into nutrients: fats, sugars, and proteins!

But the journey isn't over yet...

"Manger et après ?" is available on Storyplay'r in an illustrated version, in an audio version narrated by french native storytellers. Thanks to our reading module, we can offer a reading aid for this story as well as for all the other ones, and tools for a dyslexic children adapted version.
