On the ice floe live strange birds: the penguins. They can't fly, but they are excellent swimmers! They dive into the ocean and go off to gobble up small fish... Once a year, the penguins go inland, in a rhythm and in line... but where are they going? It's time for their date! They are going to mate and give birth to the next generation... If it is the mother penguin who lays eggs, it is the father penguin who incubates! The males are very careful that the egg never touches the icy ground, so when the icy wind blows too hard, all the dads huddle together! While the dads are incubating, the moms head back to the ocean to get their strength back. Once the egg has hatched, it's the males' turn to go hunting. Then comes the moment when the little penguin is big enough for his first dive... A book full of softness and delicacy to discover the daily life of penguins.
