Yexian, sensitive and wise, is tormented by her stepmother and stepsister. She finds comfort in a golden-eyed fish who will grant her every wish. At the ball, Yexian loses one of her beautiful shoes. The golden shoe, in the hands of a king, will finally lead the young girl to her happiness. The wonderful story of Cinderella, told eight centuries before Charles Perrault. Adapted by Chun-Liang Yeh from a story by Duan Chengshi, a Chinese scholar of the Tang dynasty. Illustrations by Wang Yi.
