This story took place in a beautiful country, called Ireland… A wonderful island, known as : "the Emerald Isle” because the deep green of its landscapes is reminiscent of the gemstone. It is a country of tales and legends, where every rock has a story, like the rock that overlooks the highest cliff, facing the ocean like an eternal watchman ...
A young farmer once lived here. He would often come and stroll at the foot of the cliff. Sitting at the edge of the water, he would dream while watching the horizon : THE YOUNG FARMER: I was meant to be a fisherman or a pirate, but not a farmer ! All my life I will have to raise sheep and till fields of spiky stone... The world is so big, and the ocean is so vast ! I would love to leave this island ... But I can't even swim !
He sighed, lost in thought, when a flicker suddenly caught his attention. Three splendid swans were swimming on the crest of the waves, playing gracefully in the foam and the currents. They approached the coast, full of elegance and splendor ... The boy was captivated by the beauty of the great birds.
He longed to caress them... He grabbed a plank that was floating near the shore, sat on it and rowed with his hands to get to the birds. The swans, while remaining close to him, continued to advance …
Without realizing it, he swam away from land and suddenly found himself in the middle of the sea. He was frightened. The swans sensed his fear and surrounded him. The smallest one wore a dark feather in the middle of its neck. It shone like a black diamond ...
The boy leaned over to take the bird in his arms and lost his balance. He fell into the water : THE YOUNG FARMER: Help ! I can’t swim… … was all he had time to say before losing consciousness …
When he woke up, he was lying on a bed of feathers in the most beautiful room he had ever seen. Three girls with big dark eyes and snow-white skin were looking at him tenderly. One of them wore a black diamond necklace…
