The French silent letters functionality is only available with a monthly or yearly reading aid subscription.
In French, there are letters that should be read and others that should stay silent, they are called silent letters. Because it is difficult for a child to spot these letters that do not form any sound, Storyplay’r has created a feature that allows you to grey them out.

Why grey out silent letters?
If your child is learning how to read and does not know the difference between « sound » letters and « meaning » letters (those that are not pronounced but give information about the words), then it is worth using this feature.
As the child reads, they observe the grey letters that are not pronounced. Gradually, they are able to memorize the most frequent lexical silent marks (-T, -S, -D).
